Lexington House Tour - Kitchen
To understand the full impact, here is what the kitchen looked like before:
After:
After removing all the flooring, cabinets and appliances, I opened up the space by removing all the built in pot ledges, the pantry, and retaining wall by the fridge.
When I was planning the layout for the kitchen I ran into an issue and realized I couldn't fit the fridge and a double oven in the room without sacrificing valuable counter and storage space. There was a small laundry room off of the kitchen which I felt was an awkward placement. Since the garage was extra long we decided to build out a laundry room in the garage and use the small space in the kitchen as a large walk in pantry. It was big enough to fit the fridge and still include enough pantry storage, so even though it was a bit unconventional, I decided to have the fridge in the walk in pantry!
One of my favorite features was this baking station. It could also be used as a drink bar or coffee station!
I took upper cabinets and built some small boxes for them to sit on top of. I used metal shelf brackets from amazon for the open shelves.
